Gentle Yoga for Your Heart
|
Your heart is a wonderfully complex part of you that not only provides the physical function of delivering blood throughout your system, but it is the center of your emotional being. We can be broken-hearted, hard-hearted, disheartened or filled with heartache. Or conversely, we can have our hearts leap with joy, be openhearted or have our hearts beat with excitement!
If you have high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, high cholesterol, CHD, MI, VSD or other heart ailments... Gentle Yoga can enhance your circulation and reduce your stress - which makes your heart happy! Do these 3 simple Gentle Yoga stretches every day for your Heart Health!
Standing Tall
Standing helps to stretch and strengthen your whole body and improves your posture by opening your shoulders, chest and rib cage. Standing poses promote recirculation from your lower extremities. Even try balancing when you are standing... just for the fun of it!
Heart Openers
Open your heart, literally, with "Cactus" pose. This posture broadens your chest area and thus improves
your circulation and respiration. It helps you open your heart both physically and
emotionally. Make sure to take a few good deep breaths here. Do this while you are sitting in your chair, standing by the counter
waiting for your coffee to brew or anytime you feel you are slouching forward. And then notice
how good you feel afterwards.
Calm Your Nerves with Child's Pose
Any time you feel stressed, anxious or nervous - your nervous system is working
double-time. And we all know that put stresses on your body, especially your heart. To calm
your nervous system, "go inside" literally. Fold your body, find your shell, and retreat
for a little while. Child's pose is the most relaxing of all poses. Enjoy!
About Yoga Journey Productions (YogaJP)
Yoga Journey Productions was founded under the primary principle of
producing yoga videos that are accessible to all populations, no matter
what physical condition, age or life stage a person may be in. Yoga is a
healing modality that everyone can benefit from, but yoga video choices are often
very limited for people with no prior experience or limited physical abilities.
The flagship Gentle Yoga Video Series by Octogenarian Mary Cavanaugh, Registered
Yoga Teacher, has worldwide exposure to tens of thousands of seniors and physically
challenged individuals. New yoga and exercise videos are continually added to the
collection of Gentle and Senior Yoga videos to broaden the exposure of yoga to this
growing population and are available on
www.YogaJP.com or
www.Gentle-SeniorYoga.com.
