Gentle Yoga Training Mentor Program
The purpose of the Gentle-Chair-Senior Yoga Mentor Program is to provide the student teacher with knowledge of the concepts and guidelines for teaching a Gentle, Chair and/or Senior Yoga class. Prior yoga teaching experience and/or knowledge of traditional Hatha Yoga is highly recommended, as they form the foundation for this specialized curriculum.
Class Observations
As with any yoga class, the pace and structure of the class is determined by the audience and the class time block. Class time blocks can range from 30 to 75 minutes and thus creating a class curriculum is based on utilizing a combination of poses to form a well-rounded yoga class that is accessible to a particular audience. Thus it is a requirement of the Mentor Program that the student teacher observe a wide variety of class formats.
Observation and assisting in a minimum of 20 classes taught by a Mentor Teacher. Prior to observing and assisting in class, student teacher selects their Mentor Teacher then dates and times are scheduled and agreed upon by you and your Mentor Teacher. The culmination of the apprenticeship module is teaching a class and receiving feedback from your Mentor Teacher.
